Project Management


Over the last thirty years, we have organised and managed repair and renovation projects on a large number of residential properties ranging from Victorian terraced buildings to manor houses.

We work with other professionals where required, including architects, interior designers and structural engineers. We are happy either to introduce other professionals or to work with those engaged separately by the clients. The project management role can vary depending upon the amount of input required by the client, but usually involves the preparation of a specification or schedule of work, obtaining estimates from builders, organisation of the commencement of the job and regular site visits during the progress of the work. Site notes are produced following each visit and close liaison is required between all of the parties involved.

The financial side of the project is also monitored and certificates are issued for monthly payments. The builder’s final account is analysed and negotiated as necessary and defect rectification organised.

Some of our clients live either in or close to the building which is being renovated but many are busy elsewhere and value the knowledge that their interests (and also those of their property) are being protected.

Fees for this service may vary to some extent depending upon the size of the project and the amount of involvement required, but the “standard” fee for project management is 6% plus VAT of the net contract cost. This figure is not applied to capital items such as kitchens and sanitaryware.
